Bromley Labour notes the court decision today to allow the expansion of ULEZ across outer London – and condemns Bromley Council’s waste of council tax payers’ money in pursuing this action. Bromley Conservatives committed at least £140,000 of council funds to this failed and politically-motivated campaign. We call on Bromley Council to disclose publicly how much of taxpayers’ money it has lost on the legal challenge.
Bromley Labour also calls on Bromley Council and other London councils to turn their efforts to working with the Mayor of London to demand the Conservative government put in place funding for a scrappage scheme that makes ULEZ affordable for all – as it has supported similar schemes in other British cities.
