Voters in Shortlands & Park Langley ward went to the polls on Thursday, 2nd May, to select a new councillor following the standing down of a sitting Conservative councillor.
Charlotte Grievson, a local mum of two, was selected as Labour’s candidate and following an extensive campaign on the doorsteps, Labour came second in the poll attracting over 2,000 votes.
Thanking voters for their support, Charlotte says: “Thank you to each and every voter in Shortlands & Park Langley who lent me their vote on Thursday. I’m delighted to have increased our vote share and to have seen such a high turnout in the election.
I’d like to thank each and every Labour Party activist – the leafletters, the door-knockers, envelope stuffers, proof-readers, designers, deliverers, all of you! In particular, I’d like to thank my agent, Rose Hazeldine, for all her hard work and support.”
Labour’s vote share in the ward increased by 2% versus the 2022 result, when all three seats in the ward were last up for election.
